why I made this blog

I was brushing my teeth the other night when it occurred to me that a year and a half has passed since I made the decision to learn web development in my spare time so I could hand-build a home for my writing.

It would be great: I would have a website that I built from scratch and I would now be a writer with something important to say because I would’ve transformed into the kind of person who wanted to build a website with no degree or industry experience and then actually did.

In that time, I took some steps towards learning how to build a website and got back into the habit of reading and writing. Today, I am nowhere near ready to build a website and I'm nowhere near ready to call myself a writer. I'm still learning about arrow functions and I find writing excruciatingly painful for somebody who doesn’t get paid to write.

But I care about words a lot and I tried to stop writing a few times but the ink is always wet and while it's true that good is the enemy of great, perfect is also the enemy of good.

I made this blog because I want to learn to find it less daunting to share scrappy fiddles and the only way I know to become a good writer is to write everyday.

I made this blog because I want to create something as magical as Madeon’s Pop Culture mashup.
